Jack & Helena | 17th August 2024
It was a real treat to join Jack and Helena on their wedding day - it’s always a pleasure to be invited to party with someone on their special day. It’s an honour to do what we do. For this job, I was quite pregnant at the time and had the special help of my Fiance/second operator, Wesley to do the heavy lifting (as he should).
Originally planning on having us set up The Beehive Photobooth upstairs in upper right snug, plans changed (as sometimes they do on the day) and we set up downstairs in the far right corner as you walk in. The advantage of this position on the day was that guests were freely able to dip in and out of the booth without the need to go upstairs.
These guys opted for our Floral Beam backdrop which allowed the venue wall to be showcased behind. I think involving the wall is great way of getting the most of your wedding venue and as walls go, this one is pretty good looking. By this point in the job I think I may have a thing for rustic brick walls.
Our Rustic Beehive Photo booth suited the space perfectly and we operated from 7:30pm until 10:30pm and as you can see from the photos, guests absolutely loved it. With a unique venue like this, you need a unique photo booth to go along with it. Not standing out and perfectly fitting in with the rustic aesthetic of the venue.
Abigail & Lewis

When Abigail booked her photobooth she had a specific request in mind - to make the focus of the photos around the venues chaise lounge. This was going to be a great idea and I wanted to make it happen, though it would involve heavily tweaking the set up. Our booths shoot about chest height and when I set The Britannia upstairs in the upper right snug I realised that the camera was fixed too high to get the low seated angle of the chair. I could aim the camera down but the shot looked funny and unintentional. Guests would have been sat on the chair but only their waists and upwards would be seen. That wasn’t the look we were going for. Determined to not only get the chaise lounge in the shot, but to make the photos actually look great I looked around the room and saw the perfect idea.
Nestled by the back of the snug came the perfect way to get the low angle of I was determined to achieve. A small wooden coffee table which just so happened to fit and bare the weight of the Britannia booth.
I let out a sigh of satisfaction as the set up came together perfectly, they fit together - it was pure luck! Taking the booth off her wooden tripod and lifting her down steadily onto the table, it achieved the perfect angle we we’re going for. The spare wooden legs looked at home amongst the venues wooden furniture too and became a drinks holder as guests clambered in the shot.
The alternative ending to the story would be breaking the news that the chaise lounge was just too close to the ground to get the proper shot. It would’ve been absolutely fine and the set up would’ve been it’s brilliant standard… But I knew the focus being the seat was an excellent idea and I couldn’t let Abigail down aha!
Another satisfying detail of this set up space is seeing through the window showcased behind the chaise lounge. The sun was setting during the shoot and the sky is still visible. The sky is never in photo booth pictures, it’s so rare!
Our QR function on the booth screen went down a treat and guests loved that they could get prints too.
